This arresting oil painting presents a regal stag poised against a bold, cerulean backdrop, its commanding presence softened and enriched by the delicate bloom of flowers entwined within its antlers. Each petal and stem—rendered with remarkable precision—intertwines seamlessly with the stag’s natural form, symbolizing the harmonious convergence of strength and fragility, wilderness and cultivation. The textured brushwork of the fur contrasts with the lush, saturated hues of the blossoms, imbuing the composition with depth and vitality. Encased in an ornate gilded frame, the work evokes both baroque grandeur and contemporary vibrancy, inviting contemplation on nature’s resilience and the quiet poetry of transformation.

From a sky of deep celestial blue, the stag emerges—its antlers unfurling into wild blossoms as if grown from the very breath of the earth. Here, the forest’s ancient spirit takes form: strength woven with petals, wilderness crowned in living magic.

BEHIND THE BRUSH

“The Stag stays quiet. Only the movement from his breathing separates him from dead, cold movement. His soul stares into yours with its seductive glare. Figuring you out like you are him. Are you a friend or are you a threat? Or are you walking with him, Into the Wild.

In this extraordinarily visual Oil painting i wanted to convey the pure essence of natures beauty in many forms. I wanted to show a physical understanding of natures capability to communicate with itself and how all is connected. I wanted to make the contrast of the Stag, the flowers, the leaves and the funghi attractive enough to lose your mind within it. A feature of my new paintings I have only recently been experimenting is using sand and stone to create a 3D effect to the antlers and the nose that come to look like they are poking out of the painting, adding to Stage sense of presence. This is my understanding of the magic of what we call the great outdoors. This is my gift back to nature!”
